Not a "Long Time Gone," but gone indeed. David Van Cortlandt Crosby left us on January 18 at the age of 81, while barrelling along through a heroic burst of activity from his mid-to-late 70s. Five new albums since 2016. Constant touring. This from a man who, by most measures, should have died or withered away a long time ago due to drug addictions, jail time and a liver transplant. His history as a founder of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills and Nash (and sometimes Young) assures him his place in the highest echelons of rock history. (This is a rebroadcast of a program aired in 2018.)
