Biography

Deb Rich, a former classical oboe student at Dana School of Music, became hooked on country music because of two songs: "Ode to Billie Joe" by Bobbie Gentry and years later, "Grandpa (Tell Me 'bout the Good Old Days)" by the Judds. Her love of country/western music was also influenced by Roy Rogers and the proliferation of westerns on film and television.

She takes a particular interest in Classic Country which has a special quality of being music from the heart. It marries Saturday Night Music (I'm going honky-tonkin', lying, cheating, trifling and crying in my beer) with Sunday Morning Music ("I Saw The Light", no more lying-cheating-trifling- drinking). The raw emotion present in Classic Country is glaringly absent in today's "Hot Country".
